Now Offering Ultrasound for Your Pet
Take Advantage of the Ultrasound Technology
If exams, lab testing, and X-Rays are not helping in the diagnosis of a condition, we can use ultrasound to view what might be going on in the abdominal area of your pet. Ultrasound uses sound waves to look at tissue and vital organs such as liver, kidneys, chest area, heart, reproductive organs, etc. It’s an excellent non-invasive diagnostic tool to use when other tools are inconclusive.
In some cases, surgery can be avoided with the use of ultrasound. Ultrasound is painless and usually requires no sedation unless your pet will not lay down and stay relatively still. It is usually necessary to shave the area that will be examined.
Dr. Ron Sand at Towson Veterinary Hospital has specialized training in the use of ultrasound and has over 23 years experience.
